Eight patches in Proxmox
Since the end of September I have been sending fixes to Proxmox VE. Not through pull requests, but the classic way: git send-email to the pve-devel list, a thread under every patch and the review in the replies.
Today Fiona Ebner and Thomas Lamprecht applied two more, so there are eight now: from small UI things, like validating mapping names, to migrating a VM whose snapshot still points at a local ISO image.
That last one taught me the most. The first version got four concrete comments, the second one addressed them and went in. When applying it, Fiona noted that the bug report is also about the migrate window in the UI, so that is what I have for the next few days.
A mailing list feels old, but it forces something good: one patch does one thing, and the commit message has to stand on its own.
